Not Reyhna Malhotra, But Samiksha Jaiswal Was The First Choice For Manmohini?
SpotboyE.com exclusively learnt that Samiksha Jaiswal was the first choice to play the lead role in Manmohini which is currently essayed by Reyhna Malhotra
Zee TV's supernatural show Manmohini is being loved by the audiences especially the character of Manmohini which is essayed by Reyhna Malhotra. But, did you know before Reyhna it was Zindagii Ki Mehak actress Samiksha Jaiswal who was to play the role. However, she turned it down. During an exclusive conversation with SpotboyE.com, Samiksha revealed the reason of showing it a red signal.
Sharing the same, Samiksha told SpotboyE.com, "Producer Prateek Shah called me for his show Manmohini when my serial Zindagi Ki Mehak was about to end. But, I was scared to play Manmohini (Chudail), so I didn't say yes to it.”
When we asked as to why she wasn’t comfortable playing a chudail on screen, considering in today's time, supernatural shows are in vogue, to which she replied, "I know and somewhere I regret also for not saying yes to the show. Manmohini is doing so good. But it was my personal choice so I can't complain. I remember when Manmohini came I felt the pinch that ‘mujhe yeh show karna chahiye tha’. But then, I explained to myself that we should always go with the thing which touches your heart instantly and that character didn't convince me at that point of time, so it's okay.”
Ironically, Samiksha will be seen in the same producer's show titled Bahu Begum. When asked as to how she bagged the show, the actress said, "Prateek again called me in December and gave me a choice to play either Shaayra or Noor in his upcoming show. I opted for Noor as I thought it’s more challenging to play her because usually in TV, audience easily accepts the love part, but here I am playing a friend, also another girl in his life. My character is very bubbly and while shooting I’m doing a lot of retakes and mistakes, but I am still very much satisfied with the character I have chosen. I loved Noor. And I also believe in destiny, so I think not Manmohini but Noor was destined for me".
The story of Manmohini revolves around a 500 year-old Chudail named Mohini, who has waited for her previous 500 year-old love, Rana Saa, who has taken rebirth in the name of Ram. On the other hand, Ram is a businessman who lives with his wife, Siya and his half brother, Vivian. Ram was about to divorce Siya but when Siya learns about Mohini, she decides not to divorce Ram and to save him from the Chudail and her evil intentions.
